Traditional rhythms of compa, catá, and yanvalou intertwine with swing, fusion, and modern jazz for a masterful blend of Haitian music and contemporary jazz that explores Haiti’s cultural and historical legacy featuring renowned drummer Obed Calvaire. Touring now with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra led by Wynton Marsalis, Calvaire will bring his new, deeply personal project to Miami, featuring two pianos and an all-star ensemble, launching Dranoff 2 Piano’s new World Jazz series.
