Venezuelan Pianists Vanessa Perez and Kristhyan Benítez

Premier ‘A Fuego Lento’ in Miami

Latin 2 Piano concert presented by Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion and Dade County Auditorium features Timeless classics by legendary Latin songwriters

Miami – Jan. 15, 2026 – On Sunday, March 1, 2026, 4 p.m., at Pinecrest Gardens on 11000 Red Road, in Pinecrest, Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion presents the year’s Latin 2 Piano concert headlined by New York-based Venezuelan pianists Vanessa Perez and Kristhyan Benítez who will perform innovative arrangements of timeless music by legendary Latin composers brimming with nostalgia. “A Fuego Lento” is presented in partnership with Miami Dade County Auditorium, which continues its programming with the Away from Home Series during renovations. This concert is a North American premiere featuring songs like “Gracias a la vida,”(Thanks for life) by Chilean composer Violeta Parra, “Moliendo café” (Grinding coffee) by Venezuelan composer Hugo Blanco, “Besame Mama,” (Kiss Me Mama) by American Latin jazz band leader Poncho Sanchez, “Hasta que te conocí” (Until I met you) by Mexican composer Juan Gabriel and “A fuego lento” (A slow burning fire) by Argentinian composer Horacio Salgan. The famous “Danzon no. 2” by Arturo Márquez is just one of the classical pieces in the program. “It’s unimaginable that this program had its world premiere almost three years ago in Romania but has yet to play in the Americas,” said Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion Executive Director Emily Cardenas. “We are thrilled to bring this show to Miami where it was meant to be and with the eyes of the world on Venezuela, there is no better time to experience the heartbeat of Latin America through its music.” “A Fuego Lento” the show was born out of Vanessa Perez’s mission to stage Latin American music with different ensembles and collaborations. Together with her husband and artistic partner Stephen Buck, they have embarked on different journeys to include Latin American works from the classical genre and beyond, including mariachi, boleros, salsa, and more. Their programs are inspired by the richness, diversity, and political history of the American continents, and the common human themes that knit them together. “Sometimes there is the mistaken notion that Latin culture is monolithic, when in reality it encompasses immense diversity,” Perez said. “From Mexico to Chile, from mariachi to tango, and everything in between, there is a vast and fascinating universe to discover.” Now in collaboration with Latin Grammy-winning pianist Kristhyan Benitez, Perez and Buck fuse the virtuosic and expressive tradition of classical piano with the artistry and reach of popular and folk styles to bring us “A Fuego Lento.” “This program lives between the classical and the popular, between the concert hall and the colors of our culture,” said Benitez. “‘A Fuego Lento’ allows us to honor Latin American music not as a genre, but as a living language: rich, nostalgic, virtuosic, and deeply human.” Benítez received the Latin Grammy Award for Best Classical Album in 2021 with "Latin American Classics" and later earned another nomination in 2023 for "Afro-Cuban Dances." Having performed in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls, the pianist and composer has captivated audiences globally with his dynamic and versatile performances, seamlessly blending classical and Latin American repertoire with depth, passion, and charisma. Perez is a Yale University graduate whose professional highlights range from symphonic concerts in Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and Spain to touring Central America with the Orchestra of the Americas under Carlos Miguel Prieto and Jean Philippe Tremblay. She has played with symphony orchestras in the U.S. from Miami to Minnesota and Vermont and in solo recitals from Manhattan to San Diego. Perez has performed as a soloist in Spain, France, Germany, and England. Tickets range from $45-$65 and are available online at www.Dranoff2Piano.org. Students with ID may purchase $5 tickets at the door. Virtuoso Bulgarian Piano Duo from Germany
To thrill Audiences at Aventura Arts & Cultural Center

Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion presents Aglika Genova and Liuben Dimitrov in
“The Monet of Music” featuring classics by Debussy, Borodin, and Reinecke.

Miami – Dec. 18, 2025 – Classical music aficionados will be enthralled by married couple and piano duo Genova & Dimitrov when they fill the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center with their stunning program, The Monet of Music, presented by Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, at 4 p.m. “Aglika Genova and Liuben Dimitrov won the Dranoff International 2 Piano competition in 1997 and have been a part of the Dranoff family ever since,” said Executive Director Emily Cardenas. “We’ve presented them several times over the years, and we’re thrilled to be their first stop on a North American tour to celebrate their 30th anniversary as a duo.” The Bulgarian couple who makes Germany their home will perform in Aventura on the heels of releasing the last in a trilogy of recordings titled Claude Debussy: Complete Works for Piano Duo. Prior to that they recorded the triple album Carl Reinecke: Complete Works for 2 Pianos which climbed to the top of the classical music charts in one week. For Dranoff’s annual Classical Classics concert, their program will feature works by master French composer Claude Debussy like Deux Danses / Two Dances and Trois Nocturnes, arranged for two pianos by Maurice Ravel. They will also perform Carl Reinecke’s Bilder aus Süden, Vier Fantasiestücke / Pictures from the South, Four Fantasy Pieces. Adding to the brilliance of this program are Ravel’s Rapsodie espagnole and Polovtsian Dances from the opera Prince Igor composed by Alexander Borodin and arranged for two pianos by Victor Babin. The concert is named The Monet of Music to recognize Debussy’s influence on modern classical music as a prominent Impressionist, similar to the artists of his era. While Claude Monet is often seen as a key Impressionist painter, Debussy's music also evokes a dreamy quality reminiscent of the moods found in Monet's artwork. Both artists were known for their ability to convey mood and atmosphere that played with light and color to create a sense of movement and depth. Although not an impressionist composer, Carl Reinecke is known for his contributions to the Romantic and Classical music traditions of the mid-19th century. One of the world's most sought-after piano duos, Genova & Dimitrov have performed in many of the great concert halls of Europe, North and South America, Asia, and Africa. Their considerable discography of nearly 20 CDs includes numerous world premiere recordings, such as the Concerto by Victor Babin, and complete piano duo works by Dimitri Shostakovich, Johann Christian Bach, Muzio Clementi and Pantcho Vladigerov. The duo's recordings of 11 concertos with orchestra have also caused worldwide sensation. The albums with works by Gershwin, Copland, Bernstein, Ravel, Arensky and Liszt enjoy great popularity in the music world. Tickets range from $45-$65 and are available for purchase at dranoff2pianofusion.org and AventuraCenter.org. Aventura Arts & Cultural Center is located at 3385 NE 188th Street in Aventura. Images of the performers are available upon request. Free Two-Piano Concerts at Aventura Mall Usher in
the Holiday Season

Miami – Dec. 1, 2025 – It’s not every day you see two pianos playing together in concert let alone inside a mall but that’s what you find on Saturday, Dec. 6 at Aventura Mall when Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion launches Pianos in Public Places, a new initiative designed to bring two piano music to everyone in Miami-Dade County through a series of free concerts. “I’m tempted to call it a flash mob except there will be two baby grand pianos between Cartier and Tiffany & Co. when the mall opens, so that will be the telltale sign of what’s to come in just a few hours,” said Dranoff Executive Director Emily Cardenas. Inesa Gegprifti and Redi Llupa of Duo Spektra will delight shoppers with 20-minute concerts at 2, 3, 4, and 5 p.m. for an afternoon of world-class music showcasing artistry, precision, and rich musical storytelling. Everyone in earshot will be treated to a dynamic program featuring timeless classics by Mozart, Bach, Piazzolla and even Tchaikovsky’s “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” from The Nutcracker, among others. “The initiative is a riff off of Miami-Dade County’s Art in Public Places program designed to enhance our community’s artistic heritage and increase public awareness of outstanding works of art,” said Cardenas. “And while we still want people to attend our paid concerts, this approach develops greater exposure of two piano music by meeting people where they are instead of always making them come to us.” Aventura Mall is located at 19501 Biscayne Blvd in Aventura. The Dranoff presentations are part of the mall’s Live and Local campaign called “Your Community. Your Stage.” Dranoff staff will be on hand to share information about its upcoming concerts, including its Feb. 1 show at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center. Ukrainian Piano Duo to Captivate Audiences on Aventura Arts & Cultural Center Stage

Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion presents Olha Chipak and Oleksiy Kushnir in

“Back to Beethoven”

Miami – Oct. 17, 2024 – Lovers of piano and classical music will be enchanted by married couple and piano duo Olha Chipak and Oleksiy Kushnir when they fill the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center concert hall with their virtuoso “Back to Beethoven” program presented by Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 4 p.m. “Chipak and Kushnir haven’t performed in America since we last showcased them in Miami in 2018, so we’re thrilled to bring them back here from Germany for what we know will be a magnificent performance,” said Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion Executive Director Emily Cardenas. For Dranoff’s annual Classical Classics concert, the program will open with La Valse – Poème chorégraphique by composer Maurice Ravel, followed by Reminiscences du Don Juan de Mozart by Franz Liszt and end with the drama of Night by Turkish pianist and composer Fazil Say. The second half of the program will feature Beethoven’s 9th Symphony in a two-piano arrangement by Liszt with percussion. Chipak and Kushnir have performed the Liszt Beethoven transcription with percussion in Europe for the past two years to rave reviews. Here in Miami, the duo will be joined by Dr. Colin R. Williams on timpani, as composed by Beethoven in his original orchestration. Williams is a professor of percussion at the Florida International University Wertheim School of Music. He has performed with groups such as the Florida Grand Opera, Palm Beach Symphony, New World Symphony, Symphony of the Americas, and Eastern Wind Symphony, among other professional orchestras. He holds his doctorate of the musical arts from the University of Miami Frost School of Music. Olha Chipak and Oleksiy Kushnir first met in 1998 while studying at the Lviv Music Academy in Ukraine. They could not have imagined then where their musical partnership would take them, but they resolved to pursue careers as solo artists while devoting themselves to performing chamber music. She is from the legendary music metropolis of Odessa on the Black Sea, while he is from the cultural melting pot of Lviv, where the first music conservatory in the Ukraine was founded as early as 1786. Together, they won their first international competition (“Roma 98”), but the piano duo sought more than recognition by juries, completing their degrees in piano ensemble performance in 2006 at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre in Mecklenburg, Germany. Since then, they have traveled the world winning top prizes in piano duo competitions, including the Dranoff International Two Piano Competition in 2003. Their success led to concert performances at festivals and venues throughout Europe, the U.S. and China. They have played multiple concerts in Europe as fundraisers for their homeland since the Russian invasion but are thrilled to return to Miami after such a long absence. “Miami has always been a great joy for us -- such an enthusiastic audience,” said Oleksiy Kushnir. “It’s a misconception that you only need to play Spanish or Cuban rhythms in Miami. Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms are always welcomed in Miami.” Tickets range from $45-$65 and are available for purchase at dranoff2pianofusion.org and AventuraCenter.org. Aventura Arts & Cultural Center is located at 3385 NE 188th Street in Aventura. Images of the performers are available upon request.
