Piano Slam 2026 set a high bar for Piano Slam 2027. This year we stretched our budget to serve 25% more students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools than in previous years, totaling more than 1,300 students in 68 classrooms. Seventy-two percent of students who entered the poetry competition in January had just recently benefited from Piano Slam poetry writing workshops in their classroom and 90% of those students said the instruction was helpful. Nearly all those students had never experienced a Piano Slam poetry writing workshop previously and 48% percent of the students who submitted poetry to the competition had never written poetry before. The result was 700 entries to the poetry competition!  |
