This summer, Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion and Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami came together for Summer Dances & 2 Pianos, our first collaboration and a powerful reminder of what can happen when artistic organizations step outside their individual disciplines and create together. Featuring piano duo Stephanie & Saar alongside the dancers of Dimensions, the electric performance created conversation long after the final note. Among the evening’s four world premier ballets presented by The Moss Center was Fantasia de Tres Mundos, composed by Dranoff music director Martin Bejerano and choreographed by Yanis Eric Pikieris. A Fuego Lento was a celebration of Latin America featuring Venezuelan pianists Vanessa Perez and Kristhyan Benítez. Patrons reveled in innovative 2 piano arrangements of timeless music by legendary Latin songwriters for a nostalgic concert with songs like “Gracias a la vida” by Violeta Parra, “Moliendo café” by Hugo Blanco, “Besame Mama,” by Poncho Sanchez, “A fuego lento” by Horacio Salganand and the famous “Danzon no. 2” by Arturo Márquez, among many others. Around the Community
The Arts Belong in Miami-Dade’s Future Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava has unveiled her proposed Fiscal Year 2026–2027 budget, which maintains funding for arts and cultural programs alongside libraries and community-based organizations. The proposed balanced budget keeps County operating property tax rates flat while prioritizing core services and investments in public safety, parks, and transportation—while also recognizing the essential role that arts and culture play in the life of our community. We thank Mayor Levine Cava for continuing to recognize the importance of arts and cultural programming in Miami-Dade County. The proposed budget will now move through the approval process, and we encourage our community to stay engaged and support continued investment in the arts. Public budget hearings will take place on September 3 and September 17. More details on how to participate and show your support for arts funding will be shared soon.
