Music Monday | Meet the Composer of Our World Premiere | September 21, 2026

On November 7, Dranoff opens its 40th anniversary season with a world premiere: “Scene Study,” a new work for two pianos and string quintet by Adam Schoenberg, twice named one of the ten most performed living composers in America. To meet him, start here, with a piece that shows just how far his imagination reaches.
“Scatter” is Schoenberg’s electrifying concerto for PROJECT Trio, a genre-defying group built around a beatboxing flutist, a cellist, and an upright bassist, set against a full orchestra. Across eighteen restless minutes it moves from pop to funk to fusion to live electronics, blurring the line between the concert hall and the music of right now. It is the sound of a composer who refuses to sit still.
It is exactly that fearless, genre-crossing imagination that we have entrusted with our 40th anniversary season opener. You’ll want to experience what happens when Schoenberg turns his talent toward two pianos and a string quintet.
Meanwhile, watch an excerpt of “Scatter” and secure your seat for the Schoenberg premiere at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center on Nov. 7.
